It's hard to believe that the fiasco of logging sensitive areas in Australia's Strzelecki Ranges is still an issue. Most people thought that after years of negotiations, when the Victorian Government came up with a $7 million deal to buy-back the most important rainforest areas from the US Hancock Group (with the agreement of the company and most of the community) that the problem was solved. But the latest photos of Hancock Victorian Plantations' logging practices in the Strzeleckis can be seen at http://www.hancock.forests.org.au/docs/08may.htm plus some of the recent press coverage.
